The Opportunity

As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a sr. Supply Engineer. Ortho Clinical Diagnostics has partnered with Nypro Healthcare in the manufacture of all clinical chemistry equipment platforms.  This is position is necessary for the continued development of the business relationship, while driving continued knowledge transfer about the clinical chemistry products offered to Ortho customers.  This position will be responsible to provide technical and business direction to Nypro operations in order to sustain and improve cost, quality, delivery and compliance performance objectives.  In the future, all new product introductions will be manufactured at Nypro Baja, and this position will play an important role in the transfer of those products from Ortho R&D into Baja operations.

The Responsibilities

  • Direct and participate in improvement activities within Nypro Baja Manufacturing
  • Drive supplier process, quality and compliance improvements to meet Nypro year over year objectives in those areas
  • Manage supplier requested changes from definition through implementation with adherence to Ortho quality System.
  • Coordinate Ortho issued Nypro supplier non-conformances from investigation to closure
  • Apply six-sigma tools to drive continuous improvements in process, cost and delivery
  • Drive understanding of, and compliance to, Installation, Operational and Performance Qualifications for all applicable changes
  • Lead improvement teams to improve supplier performance in total quality and total cost
  • Maintain supplier metrics and communicate supplier performance
  • Perform other work related duties as assigned

The Individual

  • BS in Engineering discispline is required.  MS in engineering discipline or MBA is preferred
  • 10 years of manufacturing experience is required.  Experience with process creation and continuous improvement is required.  Ability to speak fluent Spanish is preferred
