    The Opportunity

     As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a Field Engineer.

    The Responsibilities

    A Field Engineer is a member of the local Ortho Care team. He or she maintains, modifies, repairs and installs equipment (hardware & software) for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, under supervision of the Ortho Care Lead Solution Speciliast.
    He works according to the schedule provided by the Ortho Care Lead Solution Speciliast for modification and maintenance visits within territory, and responds to Field Service requests to minimize system down time and maintain high level of customer satisfaction.

    Complete all regulatory and general administration to a high standard. 
    The Field Engineer is responsible for maintaining all equipment and systems to the designated product performance metrics, for meeting all designated Customer Satisfaction goals and equally important is adherence to all governmental regulations/requirements as well as our own internal Compliance and Quality System following Ortho complaint handling procedures relative to complaint identification, documentation, resolution, and escalation.

    • Responds customer requests for service support and schedules these together with the Ortho Care Lead Solution Speciliast. Determines cause and effects implements corrective action in collaboration with the Field Engineer and National Field Specialist.
    • Performs Preventative maintenance, modifications and upgrades within territory according to the schedule provided by the Ortho Care Lead Solution Speciliast. Maintains all records in accordance with regulatory requirements.

    Performs implementation and connection of Labor Interface System in customers laboratory network
    • Communicates (Verbally & Written) effectively with all customers, both internal and external
    • Stays current with all administrative responsibilities, updates, notifications and training courses
    • Responsible for maintaining & managing all assigned company assets that may include but are not limited to :tools, parts inventory, company vehicle, computer and accessories
    • Within the company daily contact with the technical solutions team and the hotline. Contact with the local commercial team frequently
    • Occasional contact with other European ESSs, NFSs


    Territory: London area and South England.

    The Individual

    • Academic or Professional Qualifications/Technical Skills, preferably in medical devices
    • Possesses appropriate technical knowledge and utilizes that knowledge to effectively perform required job function with an effective level of competence demonstrating a high degree of knowledge in electro-mechanical, chemistry, computer and other related disciplines.
    • The qualifications are most typically, but not exclusively, associated with a high school degree in electronics, electro mechanics or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years working experience in equipment repair is recommended.
    • Good understanding of laboratory network surrounding (Labor Interface Systems) and IT-affinity in general
    • A full driver’s license is essential.
    • A self-motivated team player. Interacts appropriately with peers, sales counterparts and customers. An ability to effectively carry out assigned workload within allotted time constraints is essential.
    • Availability for travel, flexible and extended working hours (enrollment in the 24hours service provided to customers)
    • Organizes and expresses ideas clearly (verbal & written) in individual or group situations; documents work effectively.
