    The Opportunity

    As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a Regional Sales Manager for our Western Canada-based sales team (including Northern Ontario).  The primary objective of the Sales Manager is to lead the Western Canadian Sales Team to successfully meet or exceed established sales quotas and margins. This includes reviewing market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, discount rates, and work with marketing to develop sales campaigns to accommodate the sales goals of the company. The Regional Sales Manager West is instrumental in the development of the annual Business Plan and coaches the Sales Team in the development of individual territory sales plans, goals and objectives. The expectation of the role is to be coach and mentor for the Sales Team, traveling consistently with each area manager and driving sales results with all customers.


    Location: this is a remote, work from home position.

    The Responsibilities

    • Direct staffing, interviewing, training, and performance evaluations within the Sales Team including providing training to new representatives in the areas of sales skills, product demonstrations, and territory management. 
    • Appraising performance of employees.
    • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Analyzing sales to assist representatives in promoting sales within Region
    • Monitoring and executing control of division expenses such as travel, entertainment, advertising and promotion.
    • Representing the company at trade meetings to promote product.
    • Working with other managers to ensure open communication and coordination of sales training efforts and company sales goals.
    • Leveraging key relationships with internal and external Senior Leaders to achieve current and future strategic goals.
    • Developing and executing key strategies for advancing Ortho’s trust and credibility with external stakeholders and aligning long term partnerships with our key customers. 
    • Additionally, the Sales Manager is an integral part of the Canadian Leadership Team, providing guidance and council for all aspects of the Ortho’s Canadian business.
    • Active participation in Canadian Leadership Team meetings, annual business planning sessions, succession planning and performance calibration sessions are essential parts of this role.

    The Individual

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
    • A minimum of 5 years of proven successful healthcare sales experience required.
    • Hospital medical device/diagnostic sales experience preferred.
    • Sales management experience is preferred.
    • Bilingualism (French and English) is preferred but not required. 
    • A valid driver's license issued in one of the 10 provinces paired with a clean driving record is required.
    • Must be able to travel overnight as required or needed, up to 50%.
    • Highly competent in computer applications and associated software.
    • Demonstrated skills with communication, problem-solving, data analysis, time management, and presentations.
    • Proven track record in building collaboration, communication and teamwork across the local and global organization.
