    The Opportunity

     As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a VAT Specialist EMEA.

    The Responsibilities

    Prepare VAT returns. Includes VAT transactional report download to excel work file, review and adjust data to be imported correctly to respective VAT return boxes, reconciliation with GL accounts or communication with local affiliates on unclear items
    Work on general VAT compliance for all EMEA countries in scope. Review cross border transactions for correct VAT treatment. Identify country exceptions and ensure they are correctly applied. Cooperate with local affiliates, EMEA Tax controlling or external VAT advisory. Maintain up to date work instruction by country
    Prepare Intrastat and EC sales reports for selected countries
    Support Ortho countries in meeting reporting, audit and compliance requirements

    The Individual

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 2+ years of experience in VAT preparation
    • Experience in processing of VAT for multiple EU countries
    • Solid knowledge of accounting
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Strong written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management
    • Fluent in written and spoken English and additional European language
    • Strong organizational skills required to coordinate and manage across multiple organizations, processes and initiatives
    • Experience working in a global Shared Service Center a plus
    • Knowledge of SAP or JD Edwards is a plus
    • Experience working in a multicultural environment preferred
